The Arctic schooner Bowdoin is scheduled to visit L'Anse au Loup in August as part of the 2009 Bartlett Celebrations. Celebrating Bartlett 2009, a project of the Historic Sites Association of Newfoundland and Labrador, will create greater awareness of Captain Bob Bartlett (1875-1946) of Brigus. Bartlett was an internationally renowned Arctic explorer and one of the greatest historical figures in Canadian history. Details about the celebrations in L'Anse au Loup will be available in January.

Anyone residing in the L'Anse au Loup area is invited to be a member of the L'Anse au Loup Day Volunteer Committee to help organize some events for the up-coming L'Anse au Loup Day - scheduled for July 26, 2008.

July 26, 2008 has been designated L'Anse au Loup Day. Everyone near and far is invited to join us for a fun day with row-boat races,free meals and lots more. Prizes, complements of the local business community, will be given away during the pot luck supper so come out and enjoy the day with us.

The Town of L'Anse au Loup welcomes the longest running Folk Festival in the region to the Labrador Straits Arena. The Festival kicks off on Thursday evening, August 9, at the historic Point Amour Lighthouse. Come on out and enjoy a glimpse of our local culture.
